We can kinda do that by devolving policy areas down to state or city level in some cases
Politics cannot be "scientific" in the sense that it cannot be driven by falsification. This is because deciding what's false for you is generally not enough to narrow your choices down to 1 candidate. But sometimes, it is. That's when revolutions happen.

Politics is at macro-scale driven by churn as we falsify ideologies. Daily politics only cannot be scientific in certain kinds of electoral systems.
