I read the GND outline. It is... depressing. This is the thing I read. I'd hoped for better. https://ocasio-cortez.house.gov/sites/ocasio-cortez.house.gov/files/Resolution%20on%20a%20Green%20New%20Deal.pdf …
I think we can keep nuclear but discard baseload as a construct. It's not helpful technically or politically now that grid-scale batteries/BTM tech are a reality and you can smooth out duck curves without gas peakers. It's important to evolve grid for *eventual* full renewable

Grid doesn't need to be in perfect balance at all times; that's a misunderstanding. It only needs to be in balance within storage capacity and spatial arbitrage limits: batteries+pumped hydro+larger grids. For eg. EU supergrid can balance German wind and Spain solar.

Bullsh*t batteries can't store a 1000 GW You've obviously cut and paste nonsense from a green energy magazine.

I agree, full renewable is the ultimate goal. And solar / battery peakers are now cheaper than gas.https://cleantechnica.com/2019/01/13/solar-storage-half-the-cost-of-gas-peaker-plants-8minuteenergy/ …
