Aren’t rational actors easier to map and replace? Mobbing is usually considered a somewhat counterproductive, irrational and unpredictable pursuit-driven by emotion. Wouldn’t this actually make it more challenging to predict & model?

Rational and predictable are not the same. Irrational but predictable is probably the easiest function to replace. AIs picking up biases from human training data for example. Mobs are mostly in irrational/predictable quadrant.
