I'm more interested in thinking thoughts that are "distant" in some sense from thoughts that have been thought before than in thinking important, original, or difficult thoughts.

This is almost definitionally difficult to do, since all thought arises from the creative destruction of existing thought. This is one sense of what it means to think "rarefied" thoughts, like very thin air, with each atom a thought, and low mean distance between thoughts.

But theres a weird headspace you get into when you can hold a thought in your head that doesn't strongly suggest other thoughts or trigger associative bunnytrails. Kinda addictive.
