Mediocritism is the middle class compromise between explicit collectivization of miserably oppressed classes and self-congratulatory pseudo-meritocracy of elites. It’s a hedge between the two equally false consciousnesses induced by mindrots of squalor and privilege respectively

TY! I embraced mediocrity in HS. Always outside playing. One thing which bugged me is that I was never one of the smart kids. Only later did I realize the smart kids were WORKING HARD on learning. Hell no, I would never trade my mediocrity for less play.

This is such a persuasive idea. Imagining a perfect world for my hypothetical non-children, I want them to work hard, but not too hard. To be able to be lazy but not too lazy.
