I think the recognition of the valuable role managed livestock can play in ecosystems is seeing its due right now, bc concerns about climate change, fire, drought have people thinking about carbon sequestration, fire mitigation, and capturing water in soil.

Also, the aesthetic around it (organic, leathery, bucolic) combined with its positive benefits probably sooth the souls of folks hoping that more technical and digitized solutions may not be all she wrote.

Coming to mind from art: “Languish in relative obscurity then become classic much later” is an archetypical path for a lot of now-classic painters. A lot of the “weirder” US rock songs eg Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, Radiohead’s Creep, Bowie’s Soace Odyssey weren’t hits at first.
