Untitled night sky #1 1994-95 charcoal on paper
This one killed me with how incredibly black and inky and real it looked. Yet also just pure nonchalance, in terms of construction. It’s just charcoal on paper.

Last stop on the tour: a double exhibit of Wayne Thiebaud. One section was his art, the other art curated by Wayne, with his own reasons for picking it.

He had a bunch of other stuff but apparently I only liked his mountain stuff. Hoping to have some success repainting this one with the watercolor set I picked up last month
