He had a Taleb-like ability to poison-pill his own writing somehow, though with much more literary subtlety of course. I suppose I should read it.

That book moves along slowly and pleasantly, and you begin to wonder whether he has a specific point to make, until he suddenly brings it together very sharply at the end.
