Depressing thought. For at least 20 years I’ve been consciously solving for being more lucky, and it’s worked much better than I expected. But in the process I’ve kinda gotten used to being lucky, and that has made me stupider. I was much smarter when I was average-lucky.

Please. You’re much smarter than the vast majority of your audience. This is like groveling loudly when you make a bogey on a par 4. Keep on keepin on.

Sure. I wasn’t assigning meaningfulness to it. I know that’s not your pursuit. I was merely framing it in relative terms. You’re well within your rights to feel that way, I’m just saying your perception amongst followers precedes it.

I mean yeah. People have been telling me I’m smart all my life, as have grades and things. It’s nice when you’re young, but as you age, all you care about is if you have the specific blend of smarts, luck, and data to figure out things you actually want to know. A 0/1 thing.

Which is to say, I value your intellect more than most. You provide a service. And you do so with valor. Struggling out in the open is admirable. I’m more lauding you on the whole.
