I thought we killed the concept of “influencer” 10 years ago but I guess it’s back. We’re now deep enough into social media age that things will be cyclical. Watch out for revivals of
“personal branding” and other tedious ideas.

“Influencer” is a euphemism for successful popular media personality. It’s the legacy media personalities that won’t recognize social media popularity as legitimate media success.
