I enjoy consulting a lot but I have to admit it’s an ambition deflator. Since it’s the easiest money around, if it’s working well enough to cover basic expenses, it drains motivation to do anything requiring building or longer-term planning.

Also I’m fundamentally more gardener than builder when it comes to doing more ambitious things longer term. Grow over build. But growing requires about 10x more initial intelligence (soil+seed) than building (land+bricks-and-mortar)

Initial intelligence as in things you need to know. Not how smart you are. A seed is a dna blueprint that contains far more info than a building plan.

There's probably a world in which you start a school for ambitious young people (18-25?), train them to think, & help them land a job (given your renown / network). In turn, they give you some of their income for a few years. I.e. a philosophy / strategy-oriented
