Under-appreciated: ~nobody has a statistically significant experience of what is a "normal" organization. Most people work in maybe a couple types of departments through their career. Nobody sees the full range.

I find with consulting though that there is a string selection bias for orgs that hire consultants, and it's also a different work relationship than that of being an employee

Yep, can’t have everything. Every sampling technique has issues. Can also consider auditors and accounting firms, ad agencies etc.
