What if... liberal arts undergrad programs are actually de facto military schools for culture wars? 🤔 Near-future dystopian sci-fi: conscript armies of liberal arts grunts, taught basic weapons skills in marxist, libertarian, capitalist, conservative etc derp-arsenals.

You could have GI bills, ROTC analogs too. All the while keeping up the fiction that “liberal arts are useless haha would you like fries with that?” psyops to fool us STEMmies into a false sense of security about them being the NPCs and us being the players 😱

Tempted to try playing with an interpretation of this even though I’m skeptical how absurd it sounds. College-level military academy implies training of officers to command other people, which presumably matches common rhetoric about colleges developing future leaders or whatever

My intention is to one day teach a class on the interplay of tribes and narratives to business / poli sci student. Intent is to enable them to weaponize the process of meaning-making / -breaking.

Was thinking today how snobbery is a type of violence that physical strength can’t defend, and culture a European stronghold that America can’t penetrate, so we just emphasized brute mediocrity and mindlessness in all things.
