I find it weird how easily we’ve accepted ageless characters in animated shows. In real time, Bart would be 41 now? South Park kids would be be almost 30.
Sitcoms with live characters slow time. Cartoons stop it. Interestingly the cinematic universes have allowed real aging.

one of my favorite phenomena is accelerated aging of actors as in most soap operas (which is a genre I quite enjoyed on and off from early adolescence through adulthood;)

I think the point of tv shows (especially sitcom comedies) is for everything to reset to default, so if producers could make live actors live agelessly forever they would. Movies (even series) are more about getting a full arch from point A to B so aging is more OK.

I have not accepted this. I think about it every time I see the Simpsons, etc, and it's very upsetting. Please help
