Ah crap, "mediocrity is good" IS my Thielean secret. I'm a goddamn cliche.
One reason I've stayed on it is that it really is a legitimately divisive idea. I'd have stopped beating this drum a year ago if people hadn't pushed back.

You know you're onto something good when a term is a reliable trigger but people can't immediately articulate their objections, fail to supply a better label for the thing you're arguing, but kinda keep suggesting you use a different term for better "marketability"

“Mundane” might be more digestible. Close enough of a payload for you?

I'm sticking to mediocrity. Mundane doesn't cover it, nothing does. I have a decent vocabulary in this area :D

Mediocratism: Survivalist philosophy sans Hobbesian nature-red-in-tooth-and-claw violence. Acknowledge survival is problem #1 and a hard one that you have to solve every day. Reject idea that you have to inflict or suffer pain to do it. Reject both scarcity/abundance aesthetics.
