I have an aversion to being where I sense I’m not welcome or received with hostility (modulo hate-follows,which I don’t do but tolerate) so I am always weirdly relieved when someone I sense doesn’t like me unfollows me.

I’ve done such “here’s your excuse to unfollow me if you were on the fence waiting for one” tweets before, though I can’t think of one off the top of my head (tends to be a slightly subconscious secondary motive I’m peripherally aware of)

I think it's a mistake to encourage more people to go into science. Also, many fewer people should be getting science PhDs. Leaving after a master's degree should be the default for science grad students, with relatively rare exceptions.
