Convolution is a bizarre mathematical operation. I never really got the intuitive hang of it despite using it a fair amount. I hate when I’m reduced to formula-monkey.

I'm not an expert, so grain of salt: convolution is a linear operation, so it's commutative. Y=A*B*C should just be X=A*B and Y=X*C Not copping out at all: it really is just 3 sliding over each other. Harder to visualize without doing it in layers, but you got it. (I think.)
