I’m trying to remember why I started ribbonfarm in 2007. Proximal cause was I had lots of private drafts piled up. But thing is, I tossed 99% of it, and most of what I wrote was fresh, not polished from drafts.
I think I started blogging to get away from (dodge?) draft pile.

Those drafts were like fossil fuel I burned to power the published posts. Many ideas/themes did make it though but in highly refactored form. It really WAS a refactoring exercise for first 5y.
“Plan to throw one away”. Rust age posts (2007-12) were V2 of drafts from 2001-07.

Though I wrote them between ages 33-38, they reflect thinking done mostly between ages 28-33.
But 2013-18 has been livecoding of version 1 thinking. You’ve been getting ages 38-44 thinking. So for first 5 years of ribbonfarm I didn’t actually think much at all.
