Walking away from conflict has somehow become narrowly identified with libertarian 'exit' politics. It's a much broader idea.
I think exploration beyond current boundaries is as fundamental an evolution mechanism as differential survival in static-boundary conflict ecologies.

To the extent conflict is about resource contention for any resource other than reproductive success (ie mates), it is easier to solve by moving away and establishing a new range. Fork beats fight. You could still be killed: It'll just be novelty that does it, not local alpha.

what is a story without conflict? how do you sustain a dialogue? does literature become mere description?

It need not be conflict in the sense of human-to-human beef. It can be conflict in the broader sense of struggle against a difficult problem, adventure journey etc. I'm talking specifically about people who do all their thinking in the context of personal beefs.
