We comfortable chatterati live in a intellectual milieu of joyless countergrievance axe-grinding, laboring under a facade of casual inquiry. I can’t recall the last time I encountered somebody thinking an imaginative, discourse-expanding thought on a difficult, risky topic.

And yeah, I am as much a part of this across-the-board failure of the self-styled intellectual classes as anyone. People are at best either thinking imaginatively about risk-free safe topics or with zero imagination about difficult topics. Failure of nerve AND imagination 🤬

Is this a challenge? Because 's work on suicide, bioethics and sacredness (i.e., difficult, risky stuff) is, to my mind, full of imaginative & at least potentially discourse-expanding insight. Could name a few others who I think add value while playing with fire.
