If I had been in Sundar Pichai’s seat I don’t think I could have kept a straight face when asked the “why trump pictures show up if you google ‘idiot’?” question.
Did he btw?

aka acting classes :D
I used to be a decent actor in college, but at some point I lost the ability to stay in character during funny bits. I can't deadpan.

Good media training, you watch yourself on camera. You learn what's looks stupid or dismissive or wrong. It's self conscious. I also have a childhood in acting. As a guy with a junior medal in acting, I have a theory: no one optimises for good acting when they do media training.

No, but I know people in a previous job at a multinational who did, and they described the process. It did not sound pleasant. I might describe it as the opposite of improv.

heh, that kinda sounds like a perverse sort of fun... gives me an idea for refactor camp 2019... invite a media training person to come give a talk and workshop ironically

Fun idea. From what I recall, it's a bunch of self criticism of yourself on camera. Not sure how you do that with a group. Might have legs.

I had a thing like that once in a teaching certification workshop I took, where they recorded each of us teaching and then gave comments.
I think for a conf, a good format might be to have trainer simply show clips of public figures in the hot seat and critique their performance
