South Park has really mastered and leveled up season-length arcs in the last few years. It’s done as a throughline roll-up of episodic narratives rather than as a parallel unmoored backstory arc. No other show does this.

Ugh I’m an idiot.
What does this mean?

It means the season arc incorporates all the episode arcs. Simple example: you could do Moriarty vs non-Moriarty stories in a Holmes show OR you script it so all episodes are also Moriarty episodes indirectly (reveal how he’s behind seemingly disconnected mysteries for eg)
