Found a haggis and whiskey bar ... oh, bunnahabhain ... well, it has been a long day and I deserve a treat (well, I'm going to convince myself I do). I do love being back in Scotland but then I have modest but fond memories of living in Glasgow ...

... by modest, I mean broke. Spent a year living in Glasgow on about £35 per week (after rent but before bills). Small room in a shared flat, no lounge just bedrooms, shared shower and kitchen. I met a good crowd though but ... well, it wasn't easy.

The stress of poverty makes you make very odd decisions though. To escape sometimes, I might go watch Partick Thistle play ... whilst great, that choice meant I would have blown most of the week's food budget. Never easy when you're counting pennies day from day.
