DIY gods
If you could make your own god. Nothing too cosmic or universal. An earthbound, local/narrow/kinda animistic small god, requiring only <100 believers to sustain itself...
What god would that be? Name and nature?

I made up Bob the God of Parking (he rules the spaces in between). A kindly god that manifests as someone leaving a spot right near the entrance of wherever you're going.
He asks for no sacrifice, merely a 'thank you Bob!' when you get a park.

Would never. People who need gods are refusing to face life and the universe for what they truly are. I get the value, it can be a shortcut to security that might otherwise never materialize, but not for me.

Distantly related question: Have you read Jaynes’ Origin of Conciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind? If yes, thoughts? Do you find it compelling/plausible/likely-to-be-true?

Familiar with it via good second hand glosses, never read. Basically sympathetic to the idea though I don’t see a way to test it.

Isn’t that just Wikipedia, for certain definitions of “accurately”?
Ordo you mean even stuff we have no way of knowing, like what Julius Caesar are for breakfast on a specific day. Like a time travel/viewing owl.

Working on this through my project Guardian- a ‘deity’ that protects those in danger of sexual abuse by helping them make smarter decisions about who and how to associate with. Gods of Actionable Information
