I agree with that. It can and will, just not for a generation or so, and it happens to be a critical generation with deep existential risks and collective mental health is failing at the challenge right now.

I think basic income will solve it, with modern Monetary theory, you can run slight deficits. I think that the mental health issue is an evolutionary response to the always on- lalways connected-many to one nature, a culling of the herd for those unable/unwilling to block, mute.
