Part of what makes iPhones so amazing is that they pump out 100 million of them a year. Not just the best tech, but at the highest scale

Note though, that it is (and can be) only the "best" with reference to an ineffable platonic ideal of cellphone experience. The evolutionary "best" personal communication device is probably a janky prototype sitting in some lab somewhere that will be in all our pockets in 2030.
