Again, not unique to Trump. I think many people have a very theatrical understanding of tech. Animistic power = dramatic sound and fury and hissing and stuff. Very steampunk.

I think a demon like conception of tech is common to the older generation. especially the ones who haven't been around pneumatic, hydraulic or electric machines much. You see an almost superstitious fear of elevators among the older people at malls (at least in India).
