It’s astounding just how bad many restaurant websites are despite the restaurant itself being good. Like broken geocities bad. And the aggregator/delivery sites are not much better. Some sort of lemon market effect. Hmm @gatsbyjs should go after this.

for everyone telling a web designer "no way, my 14 year old could do that for free", theres an unmade website a 14 year old could have indeed made for free if the owner hadn't put "website" on a pedestal

the alternative is someone paid $5000 knowing how important the internet is and the page wont load because you have the wrong version of shockwave, there is no middle ground

yeah — I'd guess the problem is part restaurants are really low margins & part restaurant owners tend to be busy and not tech savvy. Something I'd love to do is provide a platform for website products that micro-entrepreneurs could run subscription website products
