It’s astounding just how bad many restaurant websites are despite the restaurant itself being good. Like broken geocities bad. And the aggregator/delivery sites are not much better. Some sort of lemon market effect. Hmm should go after this.

An oldie but goodie - slate.com/technology/201 : "Restaurant sites are the product of restaurant culture. These nightmarish websites were spawned by restaurateurs who mistakenly believe they can control the online world the same way they lord over a restaurant." HT

Inverse relationship - if restaurant is good trade is good, voice of mouth testimonials are good, repeat customers, etc. Empty tables drive restaurants to look at other ways to induce customers. Good position, menu, ambience and reasonable prices rule for local restaurants
