Note, much of this merely formalizes what already happens informally. Migrants don’t vaguely move from country to country, they move from city to city. Nobody *wants* to be stuck in a desert tent cities/de facto concentration camps run by military police for years.
That is a convenient belief for beneficiaries of enduring oppression structures (and I say that as one of those beneficiaries)

Social structures tend to reproduce patterns of oppression like living things. They do not decay like material things. Persistence of systemic memory is a basic problem for ancap and libertarian philosophies. But not for conservatism, which just accepts power as self-justifying

So after the national-populist global wave, radical progressives most be this internacionalist at least with regards of free movement of people, and maybe center progressives would push the OECD as the seed of a democratic liberal (European sense) world parliament.
