Does this apply to private school teachers too? I assume rich people want their kids well educated and ensure those teachers are better paid?

Depends on the exclusivity level. College preps pay pretty well, usually above all but best public k-12 and usual hire MA to start. Catholic equivalent preps less but still well above poorer rural and urban publics. Regular parochial and independent Xian schools pay the worst
