Killing Khashoggi in the consulate where he’d gone to get a divorce decree document sends a signal that dissidents shouldn’t expect *any* contact with the state apparatus to be safe once they’ve turned. That’s a real deep state: no part is a check and balance against any other.

Takes a deep state to know and counter another deep state. In this case Erdogan’s OG Turkish Deep State. This is the true danger of Trump regime institutional “deconstruction of administrative state”. He’s creating a real deep state while ranting about a made up one.
