I would say that being able to touch the merchandise and just browse is a major advantage. I do order kitchenware online, for instance, but would prefer to buy it in a store if I had something between Target and fancy furniture stores to buy it from.

Also, brick and mortar bookstores with a lot of fancy chairs are definitely better than previews of the acknowledgements and the index on Amazon.
