Well, something like “Engineering Ethics” is a pretty blunt instrument compared to say a Marxist-lesbian revisionist course of the French Revolution or something. That’s more ideological subversion than vocationalization.

I think it's because a lot of STEM people can be as self righteous as humanities people and they both wind each other up going on about how awesome they both are, so are stuck in this back and forth overstating the importance of their hobbies/careers/disciplines.
