Engineers: how many *required* humanities/social sciences courses did you have to take in undergrad? I had 3 (literature, combo psychology/sociology, and economics 101). I’m beginning to suspect anti-STEM activists don’t actually check this statistic before lecturing us

I agree in terms of the need to take more of those courses being overhyped, but in my experience the engineers I've encountered in school more often than not don't tend to take much of that coursework very seriously + basically check the boxes without taking any serious interest

touché :) id advocate for more HSS-inclined focused folks entering STEM industry to address the theoretical gap, but such an end is easier said than done and idk if the outcome would objectively be much better (entirely possible that it would be tho)
