I agree in terms of the need to take more of those courses being overhyped, but in my experience the engineers I've encountered in school more often than not don't tend to take much of that coursework very seriously + basically check the boxes without taking any serious interest

Lol I worked for an engineering faculty and when they tried to bring in a mandatory communications course for engineers there were SCREAMS and LETTERS and OUTRAGE and TEARS and RENDING OF GARMENTS so you can imagine when they tried to bring in an engineering ethics course omg
