Procrastination is really quite a magical evolved trait, almost as magical as intelligence. It's like the negative space of intelligence. Your mind telling you it isn't ready to think yet.
It needs more information and/or more imagination and/or more nerve and/or more luck.

I don’t think procrastination is meaningful before you have a clock-disciplined day. It’s not procrastination without institutional obligations.

There's a Dilbert cartoon where the dinosaur says, "This might look like I'm doing nothing, but I'm actively waiting for my problems to go away." Sometimes you can't work on something for a good reason you just can't bring to mind.
