One reason I avoid making up frameworks and methodologies (besides hypocrisy of doing that as a thoroughly undisciplined person) is that even when good, they are fragile to mediocre, half-assed execution.

If your thing can’t provide at least half the value when half-assed, (or worse: actually makes things worse if applied with less than 100% conscientiousness), it is actually a liability. Almost no frameworks and methodologies more complex than 2x2s pass this test.

A fragile methodology goes negative expected value when half-asset. A good robust one allows an 80-20 triage use (20% fractional-assery provides 80% of value) A mediocre robust one has positive-semidefinite utility with fractional assery (harmless at worst)

To the extent there are implied “systems” in anything I write, they are mediocre-robust-with-lulz. As in, they do no harm, and provide lulz for onlookers if applied with less than fully engaged thoughtfulness. 😎

But huge value in discovering how/where a mediocre (or any) framework fails. I’m thinking here primarily of the blues scale.
