If you think about it, interviewing for a scotus seat is like interviewing for a god job basically. It's the most powerful position in the most powerful organ of state of the most powerful country. More than potus. You're watching someone interview for 'god' here...

Perhaps, but that's like saying the mason of the Tomb of Augustus is more powerful than Augustus Caesar because that tomb is still around.

Not really. The US supereme court is unreasonably powerful because Congress is designed for gridlock. It makes law much more than the supreme courts of other countries through litigation over constitutional stuff.

Well, I won't disagree that the legislative function of the courts is much outside the intended (and just and intelligent) scope of the Founders and the Constitition.
