I wonder if you could estimate the computational complexity of different cities to their residents. Like quantify propositions like “London is 50% more demanding than New York.” It’s actually a more meaningful comparison than cost of living.

Precisely this! You also need to factor in age and income. London becomes much simpler when you can afford to just take a taxi / eat a meal in the closest decent place. Also when your friends stop living in interesting parts of town.
