I wonder if you could estimate the computational complexity of different cities to their residents. Like quantify propositions like “London is 50% more demanding than New York.”
It’s actually a more meaningful comparison than cost of living.

Yeah I’d model that as a representative set of lifestyles (banker, techie, service worker, cop, construction worker, uber driver, teacher, doctor, etc)

No, something more basic and computationally based. Something that gets at "if you live here for 10 years, your brain will undergo this much predictable rewiring" or something. I think they did this study for London cabbies re: The Knowledge

You could do a comparative study of taxi drivers in each study. Could be a myth but I've heard their brains undergo changes due to having the equivalent of downloaded maps.

This is why I don’t do my startups in the Bay Area. Navigating the environment takes too much computational overhead (for me). I’m sure one can get used to it, but I never did.
