I’m getting worse at practical life logistics every year. Life automation has proceeded just far enough to make us lose good workflow habits but not far enough to eliminate the need for those habits.
Also, damn, it’s one new inbox a year now. I need an inbox inbox.

last time i gave a talk from my laptop, flipping across applications to get to the PDF viewer or whatever, someone asked "do you really have 116,301 unread e-mails in your inbox?" (nb: today's figure.) yes, yes i do.

Simplifying those connections might take a macros scale correction. Remember, forgetting is the entropically expensive part... The task of our time is making partial civilizational collapse possible in peaceful ways. Eg non-violent Schumpeterism at the slower pace layers.
