The idea of picking your favorite books from among those stocked in a small town library or bookstore sounds ludicrous today, now that everyone basically has access to a big chunk of entire world’s book catalog.
But we’re still kinda expected to pick out friends that way. 🤔

Always good to compare friends with shared formative year life experience to books in a small library.

Consistent (or even erratic but continuing) facetime with your friends is invaluable in comparison to Internet content.

A lot of my friends come from different backgrounds from me, we often met by chance or through another friends in real life. I also have internet friends that are good friends IRL ~ FaceTime is important.

God no. I found mine by optimising my location for interestingness and then meeting all the most interesting people there. Location is both more and less relevant when all the interesting people move.
