Referring to yourself in the third person is a sign that you’re socially dead and trying to bootstrap back into life. Think of characters in fiction who do it, like Gollum/Sméagol. Any other good examples?

I think that’s overly strong institutional identification and need not be royal. Once in a writing group a woman wrote an entire family travelogue with only ‘we’, no ‘I’. Read weird.
