I'd argue even those are founts of social energy: the whole appeal / nostalgia of becoming a criminal, soldier or cop is the brotherhood and comradery for people who couldn't hack civilian social life, isn't it? they're more like... genres of social being for non-normies

The difference is that they are not legitimized by the grand narrative (law enforcement is valorized symbolically as NPCs on main stage in ceremonial uniform but nobody actually wants to know about the dirty work they do; even tv shows are highly sanitized)

That can go either way. In south asian mysticisms for example, there's the mainstream light energy stuff, and the tantric side is generally considered dark.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'dark energy' here, but some contemplative traditions immediately spring to mind, especially the ones which deliberately deconstruct certain psycho-social tensions & status (probably rules out monastics/yogis in societies which widely value them).
