Is there like a middle-aged married-no-kids lifestyle design living-abroad scene anywhere? Wife and I have talked idly about trying to live abroad for a bit in a few years, but hard to figure out logistics since scene seems optimized for younger singles willing to slum it more

My wife and I did for a few years. In Europe, Asia and US (a few months in each place. Longest was a year in Shanghai). Used Airbnb, contacts of contacts, country-specific websites, etc. Ended up living in very nice places in some cases. Very arbitrary tho. Work was main issue.

Sort of, but I was afraid I would have to give it up once I got married. Turns out that wasn't the case. I found that as long as you can keep earning income it's doable.
