Is there like a middle-aged married-no-kids lifestyle design living-abroad scene anywhere? Wife and I have talked idly about trying to live abroad for a bit in a few years, but hard to figure out logistics since scene seems optimized for younger singles willing to slum it more

Not looking for intriguing. Just a different culture, good infrastructure, low cost of living, decent English levels, decent healthcare, and vegetarian friendly.

My wife and I did for a few years. In Europe, Asia and US (a few months in each place. Longest was a year in Shanghai). Used Airbnb, contacts of contacts, country-specific websites, etc. Ended up living in very nice places in some cases. Very arbitrary tho. Work was main issue.

What are your passports and where are you thinking of living?

American passports. Still in scoping stage. Brief visits are easy but work visas... not so much.
