having done it, it isn't easy. wife moved with job, so been easier for her. been incredibly hard for me to build my (freelance) work here. and economics can sometiems not wokr out

My wife and I did for a few years. In Europe, Asia and US (a few months in each place. Longest was a year in Shanghai). Used Airbnb, contacts of contacts, country-specific websites, etc. Ended up living in very nice places in some cases. Very arbitrary tho. Work was main issue.

Kind of. Lots of French citizens doing that with or without kids in lots of places. Husband and I looked into living in Portugal, Italy, or US, as we'd moved around our whole lives, but ended up in France, at least for now. Very easy in Europe, of course.
