I’m always surprised when an Australian ends up mattering on a global scale, like Rupert Murdoch. I kinda think of the whole country as a leisure society mostly engaged in sports, acting, and making shark documentaries. And I mean come on, kangaroos are not a serious species.

I think it's the American's that are fascinated with shark documentaries, the Australian's not so much.
Kinda similarly, Singapore makes Lee Kuan Yew biographies but hardly any of us actually read them
