While we were busy gawking at politics, tech weirding has accelerated to unhinged levels. As somebody noted recently, we’re basically past sci-fi imaginings into territory uncharted even in fiction.
I’m skeptical that anyone does any better. Humanities educated people seem no better at anticipating human responses to tech diffusion. They’re merely worse at participating in tech evolution and first to the Captain Hindsight party.
