What does "Large power gradients" mean? Tell me something it reflects in the real world. Ultimately, I probably think people have more agency & opportunity 2 flourish in America than you do. There is a large group of excluded people. Not related to CEO pay or "power gradients."

That’s attacking the strawman implication of the pay differential graphic you QTed. High pay differentials are symptomatic of large power gradients resulting in strong well-being impact at the bottom. Increasing stress and decreasing agency constitute impoverishment.

It's a more robust thing than resentment, which is a specific emotional response that conservatives would argue can be addressed and "cured" somehow through sufficient moralizing. It's the basic shitty biological condition of being at the bottom of a dominance hierarchy.
